Temi di ricerca
During my years as first a biotechnology student and later a neurobiology student at Sapienza University of Rome, I started working in prof. Andrea Mele's Lab of psychobiology and psychopharmacology. This first experience helped me falling in love with the neurobiology of memory and I had the opportunity to learn a lot of experimental techniques and to develop with prof. Arianna Rinaldi, two projects for my bachelor and master thesis. From Sapienza University, I moved to Santa Lucia Foundation, in Rome, where I worked on an animal model of autism restricted to female gender: the AMBRA mouse. Thanks to Prof. Martine Ammassari and Doctor Annabella Pignataro I learned how to characterize a pathological animal model and I improved my skills in the lab, this drove me to look for a PhD program in which I would have offered my skills but also increase them, so now I'm in Turin University. My research activity is mainly studying memories of threatening events on the rat model, taking advance of behavioral, pharmacological and molecular approaches. I'm learning new techniques especially to visualize single neurons activity at the molecular level and I'm really enjoying the experience.
